Telecommunications provider Ericsson has added 260,000 square feet of space at the former Nortel Networks Corp. campus in Richardson to its existing 200,000 square feet of space at the site.
The former Nortel Networks campus was purchased about a month ago for $43.1 million by Pillar Commercial, which is also managing the leasing of the 16-story building and the research and development facility at 2201-2221 Lakeside Blvd.
The signed lease brings Ericssons’ square footage to 460,000 square feet in the two buildings’ roughly 800,000 square feet of space.
Pillar Commercial represented by Manny Ybarra, founder and principal, and Ericsson was represented by Mike Wyatt and Ken Johnston of Cushman and Wakefield of Texas Inc.
“When we purchased this campus we believed it truly was one of the premier commercial properties in the region, and this commitment from Ericsson is a testament to that belief,” Ybarra said.

The infrastructure, as well as the proximity to the light rail system and amenities made it an attractive site to Ericsson, Wyatt said.
The company also signed a new lease for the roughly 200,000 square feet of space it already had in the main tower.
